This is the final last poster that I have made incorporating the value and culture of my choice. The value expresses leadership as shown through the imagery/symbolism and the typography. The culture is expressed through my use of colour and texture (this reflects the research and inspirations I have taken from dadaism).
My thought process when approaching the creation of this poster:
"For my concept, I leaned towards the value of Rangatiratanga.
This value illustrated aspects of chieftainship and ambition. We were also asked to provide a sense of our own culture within the poster and its value.
To integrate this I am going to use Dadaism, as it is a very vibrant movement in art that was first birthed in Switzerland. Being half Swiss, I wish to incorporate this characteristic of myself into my work. The combination of Dadaism and Rangatiratanga would be interesting as a combination. I am going to use the design principles of contrast, repetition, and twisted forms of reality from Dadaism. Dadaism rejects traditional art-making methods using things like chance or complete nonsense to form a powerful image. I will be using this movement's method of collage, typography, and perhaps chance. It will strongly influence my design, making it more abstracted or surreal."
