A Playful Graveyard

Living within wellington I chose to merge two settings you would find in this beautiful city but you wouldn't ever find put together. Being the capital of New Zealand, I took huge inspiration from the ancient graveyards we have of the founding European explorers who discovered new Zealand around the 18th century. Combing this with an innocent, stereotypical children's playground gives it a unique, uneasy expression. The contrast of mixing the young and playful with the old and deceased gives off a very chilling reaction.
