As a part of my sustainability design project, I chose to take a closer look at 'Crap'.
Here is a snippet of my in-depth tinking:
'Designers in this age still have much to learn regarding the implications of designs that can be created within an ecological and environmental balancing state towards sustainability. This starts and ends with crap. For Earth to produce more effective sustainability in its communities; indigenous wisdom and knowledge are needed to incorporate a more cohesive process of prosperity and environmental transitional design within our planet. Why do we keep designing and making crap? The idea that human production has increased vastly since the 19th century and with it, the discard of waste from this productivity is extremely valid with this question. Postcolonial secretion of waste is a huge factor of unfavorable impact. The questions of what, where, when, and why must be addressed and researched. By exploring these simple questions, design solutions may be established, and how transitional strategies can be implemented to improve humanitarian life.'
